I have an important message for my fb, instagram, I have an important message for my fb, instagram, twitter, online friends and followers. I know things are a bit tough right now. I get it. I hate not being able to do everything we normally do. I hate wearing masks. 2020 has been like a hard kick in the......

However, please do me a favour. This is actually not just for me, it is for you, and for everyone in our community.

We are going through the worst mental health crisis our country has faced in recent memory. Substance use is up, abuse is up, overdoses are up, people are struggling. The level of brokenness and dysfunction in so many people's lives is at an all time high.

So here is what I am asking. Stop! Please think about what you are posting. Do not add to the pain, the anxiety, the despair, the hopelessness. Just stop. Stop sending me, emails, facebook posts, stories about everything wrong with the world. Stop sending them to everyone.

It is not that I don't respect your opinion, or your right to have one. Just right now it would be great if we could give a little hope and stop letting our voices add to the distress of others.

Christmas is coming soon. So I am going to choose to do something new. This month I am going to filter all my social media posts through the lens of joy, peace, hope, and love. If what I say does not give people one of these things, I am choosing not to say it.

I am asking my friends to do the same.
